LARKFEN FIELD GUIDE PRIVACY POLICY
§ Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 25, 2026

We keep records carefully — that's the whole brand. We extend the same discipline to your information: we collect only what an order or a newsletter actually needs, we tell you exactly who touches it, and we don't sell it.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Larkfen ("Larkfen," "we," "us," "our") collects when you visit larkfen.com (the "Site"), what we do with it, and the choices you have.

Larkfen is operated from California, United States. You can reach us anytime at hello@larkfen.com.

---

1. What we collect

Information you give us directly

  • Order information: name, shipping address, billing address, email address, and phone number (when provided).
  • Payment information: processed by our payment provider (see §3). We do not see or store full card numbers.
  • Account information: if you create an account, your login email and any preferences you save.
  • Marketing information: the email address (and any name) you provide when you subscribe to Field Notes, our newsletter.
  • Correspondence: anything you send us by email or contact form, including order photos you send for a defect or misprint claim.

Information we collect automatically

  • Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and timestamps.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: used to run the cart and checkout, remember preferences, and measure traffic. See §6.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a minor has given us information, email hello@larkfen.com and we'll delete it.

---

2. How we use your information

  • To process, fulfill, and ship your made-to-order pieces, and to send order and shipping confirmations.
  • To handle returns, exchanges, and defect/misprint replacements.
  • To respond to your questions and provide support.
  • To send marketing email (Field Notes) — only with your consent, and only until you unsubscribe (see §5).
  • To operate and improve the Site, prevent fraud, and keep checkout secure.
  • To comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect our rights.

Legal bases (for visitors in the EU/UK/EEA): we process your data to perform our contract with you (orders), with your consent (marketing, non-essential cookies), to meet our legal obligations (tax, fraud), and for our legitimate interests (running and securing the Site).

---

3. Who we share it with (service providers & sub-processors)

We are a made-to-order brand with no warehouse and no in-house print floor. That means trusted partners necessarily handle parts of your order. We share only what each partner needs to do its job, and we do not sell your personal information.

| Partner | What they do | What they receive |

|---|---|---|

| Shopify | Hosts our store and processes checkout | Order, contact, and account data |

| Shopify Payments | Processes payments | Payment and billing data |

| Printify | Our print-on-demand fulfillment platform — routes each order to the print provider | Name, shipping address, and order contents |

| our print partners via Printify | Print, frame, and ship the physical product | Name, shipping address, and order contents |

| Shopify Email | Sends newsletter and transactional email | Email address and engagement data |

| Shopify's built-in analytics | Measures traffic and ad performance | Usage and device data (see §6) |

| Shipping carriers (USPS or UPS) | Deliver your order | Name and shipping address |

We may also disclose information to legal, accounting, or professional advisors, or where required by law (subpoena, court order, lawful request), or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you'll be notified if your data becomes subject to a different policy).

> Review note: Confirm this partner list against your actual stack before publishing. Each named processor should be covered by a Data Processing Agreement (DPA). Printify and your print providers are sub-processors — list every provider currently routing Larkfen orders.

---

4. International data transfers

Your information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have different data-protection laws than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

---

5. Email marketing & your consent

We send Field Notes, our newsletter, only to people who opt in.

  • How you opt in: by entering your email in a signup form or checking a marketing-consent box at checkout. **
  • What you get: new-drop announcements, restocks, and occasional field-guide writing. We don't sell or rent your address.
  • Transactional email (order and shipping confirmations, defect-claim replies) is sent regardless of marketing status — it's required to fulfill your order.
  • How to stop: click unsubscribe in any marketing email, or email hello@larkfen.com. We honor opt-outs promptly, within the timeframe required by law.

In line with CAN-SPAM, every marketing email identifies us, includes a working unsubscribe link, and shows a valid physical mailing address: California, United States.

---

6. Cookies & tracking

We use:

  • Essential cookies — required for the cart, checkout, and security. These can't be turned off without breaking the Site.
  • Analytics cookies — to understand how the Site is used. Shopify's built-in analytics
  • Advertising/marketing cookies — to measure and improve ads. Shopify's built-in analytics

You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings. Where required (EU/UK), we ask for consent before setting non-essential cookies. We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals. **

---

7. How long we keep it

We keep order records as long as needed to fulfill orders, provide support, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations (typically 7 years). Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

---

8. How we protect it

We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable processors (Shopify, Printify, our payment provider). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit who can access it.

---

9. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you,
  • Correct inaccurate information,
  • Delete your information,
  • Port your data to another service,
  • Opt out of marketing, and
  • Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising.

We do not sell your personal information for money. To the extent that use of advertising cookies counts as "sharing" or "sale" under California (CCPA/CPRA) or similar state laws, you can opt out via emailing us at hello@larkfen.com.

To exercise any right, email hello@larkfen.com. We'll verify your request and respond within the time the law requires. You won't be discriminated against for exercising a right. If you're in the EU/UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

> Review note: Confirm exactly which state (CCPA/CPRA, VCDPA, CPA, CTDPA, etc.) and international (GDPR/UK GDPR) regimes apply to you, and add the specific links/disclosures each one requires (e.g., a "Do Not Sell or Share" link in the footer).

---

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our store, partners, or the law change. We'll post the new version here with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated as required by law.
